BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball was trailing Indiana University East 33-39 at the half before pulling out a 76-64 victory to record the Golden Bears fourth consecutive win. The River States Conference (RSC) win boosts Tech's record to 5-5, 2-0 (RSC) while the Red Wolves move to 3-9, 1-1 (RSC).
Sophomore
Brittney Justice had a standout day, posting a double-double of a season-best 22 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. B. Justice also had four steals, an assist and a block.
Senior
Savannah Shamblin posted 16 points including four made from beyond the arc. Shamblin also had a game-high eight assists to go with three rebounds and a steal.
Junior
Laura Requena poured in 11 points while pulling down eight rebounds and grabbing a steal.
Senior
Alexandra Combs had nine points and seven rebounds while sophomore
Whittney Justice recorded eight points.
Junior
Logan Dudley blocked three Red Wolves attempts and had four points. Fellow classmate
Carlie Biehl-Wilson finished with six assists, two points and two rebounds.
The team held IU East to 38.7 percent (24-for-62) shooting from the field while finishing 42.6 percent (26-for-61) themselves. Tech also held the advantage in rebounds, 45-31.
The Gold and Blue will continue RSC play at home on Tuesday when they host Carlow University at 5:30 p.m.
