BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball fell to (RV) Indiana University East in overtime Saturday afternoon, 94-90. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 16-12, 10-5 (RSC) while the Red Wolves move to 19-9, 11-4 (RSC).
Tech had another balanced attack with six players scoring in double-digits including a team-high effort of 17 points from sophomore
Laura Requena. Requena also pulled down 11 boards and marked three blocks.
Freshman
Whittney Justice poured in 16 points to go with four assists while fellow classmate
Alexandria Gray recorded 12 points, a game-best eight assists and five rebounds.
Senior
Zjhane West finished with 11 points / seven rebounds while junior
Alexandra Combs and freshman
Brittney Justice had ten points each. Combs and B. Justice also had four assists each while Combs grabbed three steals and B. Justice had four rebounds.
As a team, Tech finished 33-for-72 (45.8 percent) from the field while the Red Wolves shot 29-for-59 (49.2 percent).
The Gold and Blue continue home and conference play when they host Carlow University Tuesday, February 13 in the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center.
