BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball improved their River States Conference (RSC) record to 11-5 with a 66-43 victory over Carlow University Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears hold an overall record of 17-12 while the Celtics move to 8-15, 4-10 (RSC).
The team was led by
Brittney Justice and
Whittney Justice who finished with ten points each. Freshman Alexandra Gray poured in nine points while junior Alexandria Combs had eight points.
Combs recorded five assists and rebounds while also grabbing four steals. Gray had three assists and rebounds to go with two steals.
Junior
Savannah Shamblin and sophomore
Logan Dudley had three steals each towards Tech's 17. Shamblin also posted four points and three assists.
The Golden Bears held the Celtics to just 31.0 percent (18-for-58) shooting from the field while finishing 42.6 percent (26-for-61) themselves. Carlow did outrebound Tech, 41-36.
The Gold and Blue will finish the regular season on Saturday, February 17 when they host RSC opponent Point Park University for Senior Day.
