  • Fell to (RV) Indiana University East in overtime Saturday afternoon, 94-90.
  • Tech had another balanced attack with six players scoring in double-digits including a team-high effort of 17 points from sophomore Laura Requena.
  • Requena also pulled down 11 boards and marked three blocks.
  • Freshman Whittney Justice poured in 16 points to go with four assists while fellow classmate Alexandria Gray recorded 12 points, a game-best eight assists and five rebounds.
  • Senior Zjhane West finished with 11 points / seven rebounds while junior Alexandra Combs and freshman Brittney Justice had ten points each.
  • Combs and B. Justice also had four assists each while Combs grabbed three steals and B. Justice had four rebounds.
  • As a team, Tech finished 33-for-72 (45.8 percent) from the field while the Red Wolves shot 29-for-59 (49.2 percent).

  • Dropped an 84-67 River States Conference (RSC) decision to No. 2 Indiana University East Saturday afternoon in Beckley, West Virginia.
  • Tech was led by senior Michael Scott who poured in 21 points while pulling down nine boards.
  • Junior Thomas Collins also hit double-digits with 13 points to go with six rebounds.
  • Freshman Tamon Scruggs posted nine points and senior Cole Schoolcraft finished with eight points while junior Brandon Shingles and freshman Andreas Jönsson had seven points each.
  • Scott and Scruggs had three steals each towards the team's ten.\
  • The Gold and Blue finished 23-for-56 (41.1 percent) from the field while the Red Wolves shot 33-for-63 (52.4 percent).

SEASON OPENING DOUBLEHEADER
  • Opened their 2018 campaign at St. Andrews University Saturday afternoon, dropping a doubleheader with scores of 8-2 and 10-5.
  • Game One | St. Andrews 8, WVU Tech 2 | Box Score
    • The Golden Bears managed five hits in the loss including two from redshirt senior Garrison Vandeventer.
    • Vandeventer, who marked a double, also drove in a run for the Golden Bears.
    • Senior Wyatt Belinda posted a hit and a run while sophomore Jacob Reimold also crossed the plate for the Gold and Blue.
    • Sophomore Brian Schack marked a steal.
    • Senior Jerod Jobst (0-1) earned the start and was dealt the loss on the mound after 3.0 innings of work including two strike outs and three earned runs.
    • Junior Juan Perez finished out the game, giving up three hits and two earned runs while striking out one Knight.
  • Game Two | St. Andrews 10, WVU Tech 5 | Box Score
    • Tech scored five runs on six hits including a homerun and a double from Reimold who finished with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI.
    • Belinda and freshman Alex Tennant also had two hits each while Belinda marked a run scored and a RBI and Tennant brought in two runs.
    • Junior Corey Lewis stole a base for Tech.
    • Senior Dalton Grisell (0-1) pitched 0.1 innings for the loss, giving up three earned runs.
    • Freshman Brett Linton pitched 5.0 innings after the start, striking out five batters while giving up three hits and one earned run.
