CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- WVU Tech women's basketball is now enjoying a five-game winning streak after defeating River States Conference (RSC) opponent Ohio Christian University Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 16-11, 10-4 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 10-15, 3-11 (RSC).
Senior
Zjhane West came off the bench to lead the Gold and Blue with 12 points while pulling down five boards. Sophomore
Laura Requena finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Freshmen
Brittney Justice and
Whittney Justice poured in nine points each while sophomores
Katelyn Byrd and
Logan Dudley had eight and seven points respectively.
As a team, Tech finished 27-for-65 (41.5 percent) from the floor while holding the Trailblazers to just a 20-for-55 (36.4 percent) effort. The Golden Bears also outrebounded Ohio Christian, 36-26.
WVU Tech returns home Saturday to host Indiana University East in the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center for more conference play.
