BECKLEY, West Virginia --Â WVU Tech (6-17, 2-5 RSC) ended the first contest of a three-game series versus Brescia University with a River States Conference (RSC) loss, 14-6.
The Golden Bears and Bearcats will finish play in Mooresville, North Carolina tomorrow, March 17 with a doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon.
The Gold and Blue recorded nine hits as a team including two from senior
Wyatt Belinda.
Tech tallied five multi-bag hits including a home run from senior
Garrison Vandeventer, triples from junior
Sean Crosby and sophomore
Kurt Latocha and doubles from sophomore
Jacob Reimold and junior
Juan Perez.
Out of five RBI, Belinda, Reimold and Perez recorded one each while Vandeventer made an impact with two.
Freshman
Kent Rooklin, who is now 8-for-8 on steals, posted two more Friday.
Sophomore Michael Rotenberry (0-3) started the game, pitching 4.1 innings with one strike out and earning the L. Freshman
Matt Silverstein also retired one batter via strikes after 2.0 innings of work.
