BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball celebrated seniors,
Hannah Calhoun,
Kayla Harbin,
Kayla Jones and
MaKayla Waugh, Saturday afternoon and split a River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader with Cincinnati Christian University. The Golden Bears boost their record to 21-27, 10-8 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 20-17, 9-9 (RSC) after scores of 4-6 and 7-0.
Tech is currently tied for fifth with Point Park University in the conference standings and will be advancing to the RSC Championship to be held May 4-5 in Vienna, West Virginia.

Tech's highlights in game one include a three-run home run from Jones who crossed Harbin and freshman
Alexis Lopez.
Junior
Kacie Cahill posted a double and a run scored while fellow classmate
Skylar Connelly marked a RBI and stolen base.
Sophomore
Karina Atanacio (10-11) was dealt the loss after three innings of work, striking out three batters while giving up two earned runs..
Freshman
Amanda McDonald drew the start, tossing for four innings towards a strike out and four earned runs.

Runs were batted in by many Golden Bears including three from Jones, and one each from Connelly, junior
Lauren Oxford, Harbin and McDonald.
Tech also saw two hits each from Lopez, Connelly, Waugh, Oxford and freshman
Olivia Morey.
The runs were scored by Lopez, Connelly (2), Jones, sophomore
Madeline Olson, McDonald and Morey.
In the circle, McDonald (6-14) achieved the shutout W after a complete game and two strike outs.
