WILMORE, Kentucky -- WVU Tech softball worked hard in game one and dominated the night cap of a River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader at Asbury University to take the series, 2-0, after scores of 6-1 (9 Innings) and 12-0 (5 Innings). The Golden Bears now hold a record of 10-24, 4-6 while the Eagles move to 9-11, 2-6 (RSC).
Junior
Skylar Connelly had a standout day at the plate for the Gold and Blue, posting five hits (two doubles), five RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base.

Tech evened the score at 1-1 in the top of the seventh to force extra innings and the eventual 6-1 W at Asbury.
Freshman
Alexis Lopez tallied three hits towards a RBI and a run scored while senior
Kayla Harbin (2-for-4) and freshman
Olivia Morey (2-for-4) also had multi-hit games.
Connelly marked a double, three RBI and a run scored. Senior
MaKayla Waugh also drove a run in for the Golden Bears.
Sophomore
Amanda McDonald (3-12) was awarded the win in the circle after 5.1 innings of work. The South Charleston, West Virginia native retired three batters via strikes while giving up zero runs.
Fellow classmate
Karina Atanacio tossed for 3.2 innings towards three strike outs, giving up just one run and three hits.

As a team, Tech tallied 13 hits and 11 RBI including a perfect 4-for-4 effort from Connelly who posted a double, two RBI and three runs scored.
Lopez and Atanacio recorded two hits each while Lopez crossed the plate three times and Atanacio had two RBI.
Senior
Hannah Calhoun, who knocked a double, and Waugh also had two RBI a piece.
On the bases, Connelly, Lopez and junior
Kacie Cahill each marked a steal.
Atanacio earned the complete game victory after striking out three Eagles while giving up just one hit and zero runs.
Tech will take a break from conference play when they travel to NCAA DII Glenville State College Wednesday for a doubleheader.
