BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's soccer kicked off its 2018 campaign with a 2-0 shutout over NCAA DII opponent Concord University Tuesday evening.
The Golden Bears struck early, posting both goals in the first half from juniors
Jesus Naves (23') and
Eduardo Gutierrez (28').
Naves, who recorded three shots on goal, received the perfect pass from fellow classmate
Manuel Garcia to find the back of the net. The assist for Gutierrez's goal was credited to junior
Sergio Sanchez.Â

Jaime Rodriguez had two shots on goal each towards the Gold and Blue's 13 total.

Jose Domingo Xam-mar (1-0) protected the net for Tech, stopping two Mountain Lion attempts in 90 minutes of play.
The Golden Bears will return to action this Saturday, August 25 when they travel to (RV) Bryan College for a 2 p.m. contest.
