MONTREAT, North Carolina -- WVU Tech women's soccer defeated University of Pikeville, 2-0, to record their second consecutive shutout victory and move to 2-0 in 2018. The UPIKE Bears now hold a record of 1-1.
Tech saw three goal scorers including seniors
Lorena Moyers (24') andÂ
Brianna Enger (42') and freshman
Brittany Dye (19'). Sophomore
Miriam Cortez was given the assist to Enger.
As a team, the Gold and Blue finished with 11 shots on frame including a game-best four from Dye. Moyers and Enger finished with two each. Pikeville was held to just two shots, zero on goal.
Freshman
Jenna Miller (2-0) protected the net for the full 90 minutes to stay undefeated. The Bears' keeper, Erica Burkhardt, was forced to stop eight Golden Bear attempts while allowing three goals.
Tech will return to the field Monday, September 3 in Montreat, North Carolina when they face Life University.
