RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech volleyball is now enjoying a nine-match winning streak after defeating University of Rio Grande for its first River States Conference (RSC) win in 2018. The Golden Bears move to 15-3, 1-0 (RSC) while the RedStorm hold a record of 3-10, 0-1 (RSC).
Senior
Ana Monteiro and junior
Carolina Bologna led the way at the net for attack, producing ten kills and two block solos each. Bologna also had four block assists while Monteiro had three block assists and five digs.
Junior
Katelyn Byrd finished with seven kills three block assists and a block solo.
Fellow junior
Konstantina Pateli recorded 30 assists to go with eight digs, five service aces, two block solos and two block assists.
Sophomore
Sawyer Hawgood picked up a match-best 15 digs as libero for Tech while freshman
Valentina Abondano had 12 digs.
The team will continue conference play when they travel to Cincinnati Christian University for a Friday evening match.
