BARBOURVILLE, Kentucky -- The Golden Bears of WVU Tech move to 7-3 in 2018 after defeating Union College 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14) Tuesday evening in Barbourville, Kentucky. The Bulldogs now hold a record of 2-8.

Junior Carolina Bologna led the attack with a career-high 15 kills to go with four digs, two service aces and two block assists.

Senior Ana Monteiro posted eight kills while junior Katelyn Byrd had seven for the Gold and Blue.

Junior Konstantina Pateli, this week's River States Conference (RSC) Setter of the Week, marked 35 assists, nine digs and five kills.

Sophomore libero Sawyer Hawgood posted a team-best 20 digs and two service aces in the victory.

The Golden Bears outhit their opponent with a hitting percentage of .187 compared to the Bulldogs' .083.

Tech will return to the court Thursday when they host four matches for the Concord Classic including the two they play in against UVA Wise (1 p.m.) and Bluefield State College (5 p.m.).
