WILMORE, Kentucky -- The WVU Tech women's basketball squad posted its sixth consecutive victory with a 70-50 River States Conference (RSC) triumph at Asbury University. The Golden Bears move to 13-8, 8-1 (RSC) while the Eagles hold a record of 5-15, 1-8 (RSC).
Senior
Savannah Shamblin led the game with 18 points while junior
Laura Requena marked a game-best 13 rebounds. Shamblin had eight boards and Requena completed the double-double with 12 points.
Rounding out the top offensive contributors included sophomore
Brittney Justice with 11 points and senior
Alexandra Combs with ten points.
Tech held an advantage under the boards, 50-40. The Golden Bears forced 14 Eagles' miscues and grabbed six steals.
WVU Tech will return to the court Saturday for more conference play when they face Midway University in Kentucky.
