CINCINNATI, Ohio -- WVU Tech women's basketball earned its eighth consecutive victory with a 73-58 River States Conference (RSC) decision at Cincinnati Christian University Thursday evening. The Golden Bears boost their record to 15-8, 10-1 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 12-10, 8-3 (RSC).
Tech has strengthened its stronghold on the top spot in the RSC East Division with the next team, Indiana University East (7-4 RSC), at 3.0 games back.
Cincinnati Christian is knotted with Indiana University Kokomo (7-2 RSC) at No. 1 in the West.
Junior
Laura Requena and sophomore
Brittney Justice both posted double-doubles.
Requena finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds while B. Justice had 21 points and ten rebounds.
Senior
Savannah Shamblin finished with eight points and six rebounds. Fellow senior
Alexandra Combs had seven points.
Tech will continue conference play on the road Saturday when they travel to IU Kokomo.
