- Five Golden Bears hitting double-digits in WVU Tech's ninth-straight win, 99-79 at Indiana University Kokomo (11-8, 7-3), has strengthened the team's lead in the River States Conference (RSC) East Division.
- With a record of 11-1 (RSC) and 16-8 overall, the Gold and Blue are No. 1 in the east conference standings while Indiana University East (8-4 RSC) is No. 2 at 3.0 games back.
- Junior Laura Requena posted her fifth consecutive double-double with 17 points and a game-best 11 rebounds.
- She also marked two steals and an assist.
- Senior Savannah Shamblin finished 7-for-8 from the foul line towards a team-high 19 points while marking four assists, two rebounds and two steals.
- Sophomore Brittney Justice was just one board away from a double-double of her own with 18 points and nine rebounds.
- B. Justice finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the bonus line while grabbing five steals.
- Senior Alexandra Combs poured in ten points while recording four rebounds and two assists.
- Freshman ShanEttine Butler also marked ten points to go with two steals.
- Junior Logan Dudley had eight points and two rebounds.
- The team shot 50.0 percent (32-for-64) from the field while the Cougars finished at 46.3 percent (31-for-67).
- Tech also held the advantage under the boards, 40-33.
- The Golden Bears forced 21 IU Kokomo miscues and grabbed 12 steals.

- Suffered just its second River States Conference (RSC) loss of the season at Indiana University Kokomo, 89-82, Saturday afternoon.
- The Golden Bears hold a record of 19-4, 10-2 (RSC) while the Cougars move to 18-4, 8-3 (RSC).
- IU Kokomo is now just 0.5 games back from the top spot in the RSC West Division.
- After Saturday's conference action, Tech is No. 2 in the RSC East, 1.0 games back from No. 15 Indiana University East (11-1 RSC).
- Senior Elisha Boone led the game with 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting and finished with a double-double including 14 rebounds.
- He also marked three assists and two steals.
- Fellow classmate Brandon Shingles marked 19 points while sophomore Junior Arrey had 14 points.
- Senior Tommy Collins posted ten points and five rebounds.
- The Cougars held a big advantage in rebounds, 43-29 while shooting 48.3 percent (29-for-60) from the field compared to Tech's 45.8 percent (27-for-59).

- Competed at the West Virginia Collegiate Invitational hosted by Wheeling Jesuit University Saturday.
- The Golden Bears finished fourth out of five teams with a team score of 45.0 points.
- West Liberty University won the invite with a team score of 110.5.
- Tech had nine Golden Bears place in their respective weight classes including two third place finishes from senior Tristan Bean (133 lbs.) and sophomore Logan Robertson (144 lbs.).
- The fourth place finishers for the Gold and Blue were freshmen Austin Dilly (133 lbs.) and Cameron Crislip (165 lbs.) and sophomore Nathan McClaugherty (141 lbs.).
- Finishing fifth after the all-day invite were sophomores Neko Aquilina and Clay Fritz (157 lbs.).
- Senior Jonathan Cruse (149 lbs.) and Christian Lively (285 lbs.) finished sixth overall in their weight classes.

LAST TIME OUT
- Participated at the all-day Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College in Salem.
- The Golden Bears posted seven top-ten finishes Saturday.
- The men were led by fifth place finishes from freshman Michael Ecker-Randolph in the mile run (4:31.82) and from the relay team of senior Raquez Lockhart, junior Sasha Fleurinor, freshman Nick Lee and sophomore Evan Pronesti in the 4x400 (3:37.25).
- Finishing sixth in their respective events were sophomore Marcus Vital (1,000m, 2:48.37) and Fleurinor (600m, 1:27.42).
- Junior Dan Nehnevaj finished eighth in the mile run (4:33.95) while Lockhart crossed the line tenth during the 600m (1:28.43).
- For the women, sophomore Kaeley Boyd was tenth in the 1,000m after finishing with a time of 3:32.25.

RIVER STATES CONFERENCE COACHES' PRESEASON POLL
- Point Park (Pa.) University is predicted as the favorite in the 2019 River States Conference (RSC) Baseball Coaches' Preseason Poll.
- The Pioneers, who ended last year ranked No. 15 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, received six of the 10 first-place votes in the polling conducted by the league's head coaches.
- WVU Tech is predicted as final postseason qualifier for 2019 and came in sixth place. The Golden Bears received 41 votes.
- The final four teams in the poll were Asbury (Ky.) University (28 votes), Brescia (Ky.) University (25), Cincinnati Christian University (16) and Ohio Christian University (14).
