PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech men's basketball earned a 79-56 decision over River States Conference (RSC) opponent Carlow University Tuesday evening in Pittsburgh. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 2-1, 1-0 (RSC) while the Celtics are 0-1, 0-1 (RSC).
Junior
Tamon Scruggs led the Gold and Blue with a double-double effort of 16 points and ten rebounds to go with two steals and an assist.
Senior
Kevin Thomas-Griffin poured in 14 points while grabbing six boards. He also grabbed three steals and had three assists.
Junior
Junior Arrey recorded 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Freshmen
Andrew Work and
Darrin Martin came off the bench to post ten points each. Work finished with four rebounds and three steals while Martin had three rebounds and four steals.
Senior
Dominik King marked five points, five rebounds and a steal.
The team finished 33-for-69 (47.8 percent) from the field while holding the Celtics to just 21-for-54 (38.9 percent) shooting.
Tech also held the advantage in points off turnovers (4-3), second chance points (14-6), bench points (30-16) and points in the paint (30-16).
WVU Tech will next travel to Murfreesboro, North Carolina to face Chowan University Saturday, November 9.
