BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball earned its fifth consecutive win after defeating University of Rio Grande 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 25-16) in River States Conference (RSC) action Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 20-10, 9-5 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 16-14, 4-10 (RSC).
Senior
Katelyn Byrd finished with 14 kills, eight digs, two block assists and an assist for the Gold and Blue.
Freshman
Brooklyn Cook put down 12 kills and a block assist while picking up four digs.
Senior
Carolina Bologna posted ten kills, five digs, five block assists, three service aces and a block solo.
Fellow senior
Emily Kidd recorded eight kills and two block assists.
Senior
Konstantina Pateli dished 36 assists while junior
Michaella Guyot-Polverini had 11 assists. Pateli also finished with nine digs and two kills while Polverini had five digs, a service ace and a kill.
Junior
Sawyer Hawgood marked 25 digs to go with three assists, a service ace and a kill.
The team will continue this conference home stand when they host Indiana University Kokomo Friday, November 8 in Van Meter Gym.
