BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball celebrated its seniors and completed the regular season Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 River States Conference (RSC) victory over Cincinnati Christian University. The Golden Bears will head to the River States Conference Championship in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with an overall record of 21-11.
The attack was led by seniors
Katelyn Byrd (14),
Emily Kidd (7) and
Carolina Bologna (5). Byrd also finished with six digs and a block solo while Kidd had three block solos and a dig and Bologna finished with three digs, an assist and a block solo.
Senior
Konstantina Pateli put out 33 assists to go with seven digs, four kills and a service ace.
Junior
Sawyer Hawgood picked up 13 digs while recording four assists and a kill.
Senior
Michaella Guyot-Polverini recorded five digs, two service aces and an assist and freshman
Brooklyn Cook marked four digs, two block solos and four kills.
Tech finished No. 2 in the RSC East standings, 2.0 games back from the championship host school, Point Park University.
