KINGSPORT, Tennessee -- WVU Tech men's basketball is enjoying a three-game winning streak after finishing 2-0 during the NAIA Showcase in Kingsport. The Golden Bears boost their record to 5-4 after defeating Bluefield College (71-69) then Milligan College (81-62).
Junior
Tamon Scruggs led the Golden Bears in scoring over two games, finishing with 33 points and averaging 16.5 per game. He pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds, had four steals and two assists.
Fellow classmate
Junior Arrey poured in 27 points to go with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Senior
Dominik King posted 26 points including a 5-for-7 effort from beyond the arc against Milligan towards a game-best 21 points. King also finished with six boards, three steals and three assists.
Freshman
Darrin Martin came off the bench both contests to contribute with a combined 16 points while marking four rebounds and four assists.
Senior
Kevin Thomas-Griffin averaged 6.0 points a game towards 12 total to go with six rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals.
As a team, Tech outscored its opponents 152-131 while outrebounding 81-71.
The Gold and Blue will return to Beckley, West Virginia for their next competition, hosting Ohio Christian University Tuesday, December 3 for River States Conference action.
