- Senior Savannah Shamblin finished with 17 points, four assists, a steal and two rebounds.
- Sophomore Brittney Justice marked 11 points, seven rebounds and an assist.
- Fellow sophomore Whittney Justice came off the bench to contribute with ten points, four rebounds and two assists.

- The Golden Bears boost their record to 23-4, 14-2 (RSC) while the Pioneers move to 8-15, 5-10 (RSC).
- Tech was led by senior Elisha Boone who recorded a double-double effort of 18 points and 15 rebounds.
- Fellow senior Brandon Shingles knocked down five three-pointers towards 17 points.
- Shingles also marked five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
- Junior Dominik King finished with 13 points, four assists, two steals and a rebound.
- Sophomore Junior Arrey had 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
- Freshman Isaiah Morgan posted eight points and a rebound.
- As a team, Tech finished 30-for-51 (58.8 percent) from the field while holding the Pioneers to just 27-for-60 (45.0 percent) shooting.
- The Gold and Blue also held the advantage under the boards, 38-21.

RIVER STATES CONFERENCE (RSC) COACHES' PRESEASON POLL
- University of Rio Grande (Ohio) is this year's favorite in the 2019 RSC Softball Coaches' Preseason Poll.
- WVU Tech came in fifth in the poll with 47 votes.
- The Golden Bears were 24-27, 10-8 RSC last season.
- The RSC Softball Coaches' Preseason Poll was voted on by the league's 10 softball head coaches.
- Rio Grande was the unanimous favorite with all nine of the possible first-place votes.
- The RedStorm received 81 votes in the balloting.

- Wrestling dropped a dual to Truett-McConnell University, 29-23, Saturday in Van Meter Gym.
- Senior Tristan Bean picked up Tech's first win, at 133 lbs., with an 11-3 major decision over Jacob Taylor.
- Sophomore Logan Robertson grabbed the next W for the Gold and Blue with an 8-3 decision over William Davidson at 141 lbs.
- Fellow sophomore Devin Wilhelm grappled at 149 lbs., earning a 12-0 major decision over Jacob Power.
- Junior Leland Swafford scored Tech's first fall of the morning, defeating Ian James at 157 lbs.
- The final win of the dual for WVU Tech went to freshman Tucker Lawson at 174 lbs. who posted a fall over Kendrik Koller.
