PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech softball took game one 2-1 before falling in the second contest 1-4 at Carlow University Saturday afternoon. After the River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader, the Golden Bears now hold a record of 17-21, 7-7 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 15-13, 7-5 (RSC).
Three Golden Bears had a multi-hit series including
Skylar Connelly,
Kacie Cahill and
Alexis Lopez. Connelly also posted a RBI.
Ciara Jimenez recorded a double and a RBI while the final RBI was credited to
Kayte Blandford off a home run in game one.
Jacey Bertalan also knocked a double for the Gold and Blue.
In the circle,
Karina Atanacio recorded the complete-game W in the first match-up, posting eight strike outs.
Taylor Dickerson was given the loss in game two after 5.0 innings and four strike outs.
Amanda McDonald threw for 1.0 inning and struck out two Celtics.
The team will return to the field Friday, April 19 when they travel to University of Rio Grande for more conference action.
