BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech men's soccer completed the River States Conference (RSC) sweep Thursday evening, defeating Asbury University 4-3 after the women's squad blanked the Eagles 1-0. The men stay perfect at 6-0-1, 1-0 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 2-7, 0-1 (RSC).
The Golden Bears had four who found the back of the net including seniors
Jesus Naves (41') and
Manuel Garcia (57'), freshman
Luis Alejandro Jaimes (57') and sophomore
Antonio Fernández Castaño (69').
Garcia was awarded the two assists for Tech, sending it to Naves (41') before finding Jaimes (57').
Asbury answered back after Tech finished scoring for the evening, posting three goals in the second half including their final one with just 20 seconds left to play.
In goal, senior
Jorge Martinez (6-0-1) is still perfect, making five stops while allowing three goals in 90 minutes of play.
