BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's soccer opened up its River States Conference (RSC) schedule Thursday with a 1-0 shutout over Asbury University in Beckley. The Golden Bears improve to 2-3 while the Eagles move to 1-8.
The lone goal of the contest and the Gold and Blue's game-winner came from Freshman
Sydney Krakat in the 19
th minute. The assist came off a corner kick from senior
Veronica Nobles. The score marks Krakat's first collegiate goal.
In goal, sophomore
Jenna Miller made eight stops and allowed zero goals after 90 minutes of play.
As a team, Tech finished with five shots on goal including two each from Krakat and sophomore
Brittany Dye.
Up next, the Golden Bears will continue conference play when they host Midway University Saturday at 5 p.m.
