BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's basketball earned its first victory of the 2020-2021 campaign with an 82-74 overtime decision against Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 1-2 while the Bobcats move to 1-1.
Sophomore
Darrin Martin led all scorers with 26 points including an 8-for-10 effort from the foul line. He also posted five rebounds, five assists and a steal.
Senior
Juvante' Hayes poured in 18 points to go with four rebounds and three assists.
Fellow senior Andreas Jönsson and freshman
Philip Mullins rounded out Tech's top scorers with nine points each. Mullins finished with six boards, five rebounds and two assists while Jönsson had four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Sophomore
Andrew Work pulled down six rebounds to go with six points and a block. Fellow classmate
Ashton Parker recorded eight points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.
Freshman
Thomas Hailey recorded six points, five rebounds, a block and a steal.
Tech will return to the court November 21 when they host Carolina University.
