BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball opened its 2020-2021 campaign with an 80-65 victory over Bluefield College Tuesday evening.

Senior Brittney Justice and junior ShanEttine Butler led the offense with 14 points each. Butler dished five assists while Justice had three.

Senior Whittney Justice poured in 11 points for the Gold and Blue, also recording a game-high six assists to go with two steals.

Sophomore Brianna Ball hit double-digits for Tech, finishing 5-for-9 towards ten points. She also pulled down a team-best six boards.

Senior Alexandria Gray finished with nine points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The teams were about even under the boards with Tech grabbing 33 and the Rams 32. The Golden Bears forced 19 turnovers and grabbed 12 steals while Bluefield had 11 steals.

WVU Tech will return to play Saturday, November 7 when they host Campbellsville University.
