BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech men's basketball posted its eighth straight win after defeating Carlow University 135-88 Tuesday evening. The River States Conference (RSC) victory boosts the Golden Bears record to 19-7, 13-1 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 1-24, 0-12 (RSC).
Tech, who is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation (NAIA DII) in assists per game, posted a season-high 41 assists. The Gold and Blue also recorded a season-best 22 three-pointers, finishing 57.9 percent from beyond the arc.
WVU Tech had 12 Golden Bears record points including a career-high 28 from senior
Dominik King. King finished 10-for-13 from the field including five three's while marking six rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Junior
Andreas Jönsson was 6-for-7 from the three-range towards 21 points.
Senior
Kevin Thomas-Griffin also posted his career-high with 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
Junior
Juvante' Hayes had 14 points while freshmen
Justin Phillips had 11 and
Keondre' King posted ten points.
Juniors
Tamon Scruggs and
Junior Arrey led the way under the boards with seven rebounds each. Arrey also marked ten assists.
The team will continue conference play when they travel to Point Park University Saturday, February 15.
