BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech wrestling picked up its third consecutive win with a 32-18 decision over Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent Bluefield College Thursday evening in Van Meter Gym. The Golden Bears finish the regular season 4-7, 2-2 (AAC).
Tech earned five wins by bout including a fall at 165 lbs. produced by Jephte Jean Paul. The native of Irvington, New Jersey took down Mykell Banks.
Logan Robertson, who was celebrated as Tech's lone senior Thursday evening, earned a 5-3 decision at 133 lbs. over Isaac Wright.
At 149 lbs.,
Devin Wilhelm posted a 9-2 decision over Zachary Silver.
Leslie Campbell came away with a 12-2 major decision over Marek Banks at 174 lbs.
A 6-4 decision at 184 lbs. gave
Jacob Thomas of WVU Tech the win over Francisco Vasquez.
The grapplers will head into the postseason when they host the AAC Championship in the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center Saturday, February 22. Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the championship round will start at approximately 3 p.m.
