MARION, North Carolina -- WVU Tech baseball fell to Montreat College 1-4 before defeating Shawnee State University, in walk-off fashion, 3-2 Saturday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 4-5, winning four of their last five contests.
Alex Tennant led the way at the plate for Tech, finishing 3-for-4 Saturday including driving in the winning run against Shawnee State. Tennant also posted two RBI.
Corey Lewis also finished with three hits, posting a triple and a RBI.
Patrick Burke had two hits and an RBI Saturday.
Luke Lindamood,
Kent Rooklin,
Kurt Latocha and
Andrew Sharp all had one hit each.
Runs were recorded by Burke, Rooklin,
Bob Funk and
Yannik Petry. Lewis, Funk and Petry also marked a stolen base each.
Michael Rotenberry pitched 5.2 innings towards the loss against Montreat, striking out three batters.
Logan McClure was awarded the win after 3.0 innings pitched against Shawnee State, recording two strike outs.
Logan Stump threw for 4.2 innings towards seven strike outs while
Will Mullins had two and
Cameron Asbury posted one strike out.
The Gold and Blue will play one more in Marion as they face Shawnee State again Sunday for one nine-inning game.
