Career night for Golden Bears

MOUNT HOPE, West Virginia -- No. 20 WVU Tech men's basketball traveled just down the road to Mount Hope to earn a 103-64 win at Appalachian Bible College to finish out the regular season Monday. Tech had many Golden Bears finish with career numbers.

Senior Brent Daniels led all with a career-high double-double of 31 points and 28 rebounds. The Mount Hope native also posted four assists, two steals and a block.

Freshman Justin Phillips finished with a triple-double effort with career-highs of 18 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds. Phillips, who hails from Charleston, West Virginia, also marked four steals and two blocks.

Fellow freshman Keondre' King poured in 18 points and ten rebounds for the double-double and career-highs. King, a native of Wheeling, West Virginia, also posted two assists and a steal.

Luke Vass, a freshman from Fayetteville, West Virginia, captured a career-best 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to go with three steals and a block.

Junior Dallas Jones (Oak Hill, West Virginia) also had a career night with 18 points, eight rebounds and an assist.

Senior Kevin Thomas-Griffin (Jacksonville, Florida) finished with five rebounds, two points and an assist.

WVU Tech, No. 1 in the River States Conference (RSC) East, will host No. 4 RSC West Alice Lloyd College Wednesday, February 26 in a RSC Championship quarterfinal. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
