BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball took two games from Bluefield College, 3-1 and 4-1, in non-conference action Wednesday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 6-10 while the Rams move to 5-11.
Tech's pitchers during the doubleheader,
Karina Atanacio and
Courtney Miles, grinded it out in the circle to pitch complete games.
Atanacio earned the W in game one, striking out four batters while giving up just one run. Miles struck out six Rams and walked zero batters in game two towards the victory.
Kelsey Moore finished with three RBI, three hits and a home run during the series.
Jacey Bertalan had three hits, a triple, a RBI and a run scored.
Atanacio, Miles and
Kayte Blandford recorded a RBI each.
Tech finished with a team batting average of .321 while holding the Rams to just a .226 average.
The Golden Bears will now hit the road to participate in the PFX Games March 15-20 in Clermont, Florida.
