DUNBAR, West Virginia -- WVU Tech baseball split with University of Pikeville in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday with scores of 5-11 and 7-2. The Golden Bears and Pikeville both hold a record of 6-13.
On the mound,
Will Mullins was awarded the W after 2.0 innings in game two. He finished with two strike outs and one earned run.
Cameron Asbury retired a series-high four batters via strikes, marking four strike outs after 5.0 innings.
Bob Funk finished with three hits over two games towards two runs, a double and a RBI.
Andrew Sharp recorded two hits and three RBI while
John Ackerman posted two hits, two RBI and a double.
Joshua Ramirez had two RBI and a double.
The team will next host Brescia University in a River States Conference (RSC) series Saturday and Sunday at the Shawnee Sports Complex.
