RIO GRANDE, OHIO -- WVU Tech men's soccer earned a huge 4-3 double overtime River States Conference (RSC) win at University of Rio Grande Saturday evening. The game was the Golden Bears first contest in 2020 and the RedStorm now hold a record of 2-2, 0-1 (RSC).
After 102 minutes of play, Tech took the win off a golden goal from sophomore
Ruben Martin Macias who received a cross from senior
Eduardo Gutierrez for the score.
Senior
Pablo Muniz Rocandio posted a goal (50') off a penalty kick and also recorded an assist for the Gold and Blue's third score. That goal came from a corner kick where
Andrija Milenkovic found the back of the net.
The second goal for the Golden Bears came from
Luis Alejandro Jaimes who was assisted by Gutierrez in minute 52.
As the keeper, freshman
Guillermo Crespo made six stops for the win after 102 minutes protecting the net.
Rio's keeper, Kieran Hodges, stopped three Golden Bear attempts and allowed four goals in the complete game.
