BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech and Carlow University went to double overtime before ending the Thursday evening River States Conference (RSC) match-up knotted 2-2. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 3-6-1, 1-3-1 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 2-7-1, 1-3-1 (RSC).
Tech was down 2-0 until the 29th minute when junior
Anna Baker found the back of the net for her first goal in 2021.
The final score of the contest was put away by senior
Brittany Dye after 79 minutes. She was assisted by fellow classmate
Jodie Pallant.
Dye recorded five shots on frame while Pallant and freshman
Angelica Taylor had two each.
Senior
Jenna Miller made 11 saves in 110 minutes of play. The Lake Jackson, Texas native is currently ranked No. 14 in the NAIA with 74 total saves this season.
The Gold and Blue will stay at home for Saturday's conference game against Point Park University scheduled for 5 p.m.
