KOKOMO, Indiana -- WVU Tech volleyball entered the River States Conference (RSC) Championship as the No. 3 (East) seed and faced No. 2 (West) Midway University in a quarterfinal Friday. The Golden Bears fell 3-1 to the Eagles with scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-22.
Julia McClanahan had a match-high 35 assists to go with 11 digs, two service aces and two kills.
Ariana Gentzler and
Coralys Maldonado Rivera led the attack for Tech with ten kills each while
Brooklyn Cook and
Morgan Shablom had eight each.Â
On defense,
Brooke Presley picked up 17 digs while Gentzler put down four block solos.
Ana Muñiz Rocandio finished with seven kills and seven digs while
Abigail Gregory had six digs.
Gentzler was named WVU Tech's Champion of Character while Maldonado River and Muñiz Rocandio earne All-River States Conference Second Team accolades.
The Gold and Blue finish out the 2021 season with an overall record of 15-18 and a conference showing of 11-7.
