PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech women's basketball earned its first win this season when they defeated River States Conference (RSC) opponent Point Park University 51-44 Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears now stand at 1-4, 1-0 (RSC) while the Pioneers move to 4-1, 0-1 (RSC).
Tech's defense held Point Park to just 26.3 percent shooting from the field while forcing 15 turnovers.
Whittney Justice led the game with 17 points to go with three rebounds.
Brittney Justice also hit double-digits, recording ten points and seven rebounds.
Alyssa Taylor was just shy of a double-double with a game-high ten boards to go with seven points.
Brianna Ball grabbed five steals while producing seven points and four rebounds.Â
Alanis Hill came off the bench to tally seven points and four rebounds.
The Gold and Blue will return to Pittsburgh Saturday to compete in another RSC match-up at Carlow University.
