BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's basketball now has six consecutive wins and is undefeated in River States Conference (RSC) action after defeating Ohio Valley University 86-59 Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears hold a record of 9-2, 4-0 (RSC) while the Fighting Scots move to 0-7, 0-2.
Tech finished 28-for-52 (53.8 percent) from the field with a balanced offensive attack led by Andreas Jönsson. The Stockholm, Sweden native hit five from beyond the arc towards 15 points to go with three assists and two rebounds.
Ashton Parker finished with 13 points while
Gunner Short had ten points for the Gold and Blue. Parker also had three rebounds and two blocks while Short had three assists and two boards.
Tamon Scruggs and
Keondre' King both recorded nine points and five rebounds while
Juvante' Hayes had seven points and
Thomas Hailey posted seven.Â
Philip Mullins came off the bench to post eight points and six rebounds.
Tech held Ohio Valley to 33.3 percent shooting from the floor and forced nine turnovers.
The squad will continue conference play Saturday when they travel to Ohio Christian University for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
