BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball recorded its third River States Conference (RSC) victory, defeating Ohio Valley University 96-80 Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 3-7, 3-1 (RSC) while the Fighting Scots move to 0-3, 0-2 (RSC).
Alanis Hill had a standout showing, just one rebound short of a triple-double, as she posted 16 points, 12 assists and nine boards. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native also recorded two steals and a block for the Gold and Blue.
Brittney Justice was 7-for-8 from the foul line and sunk three three-pointers towards a game-high 30 points. B. Justice also had nine rebounds and two assists.
Whittney Justice finished with four from beyond the arc towards 24 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and a block.
Elle Baker and
Leonor Ferreira both had eight points and eight boards for Tech.
Makayla Jones came off the bench to produce seven rebounds, four points and two assists.
As a team, Tech held Ohio Valley to 37.2 percent shooting from the floor while forcing 12 turnovers. The Golden Bears shot 45.5 percent from the field.
The squad will continue conference play Saturday when they travel to Ohio Christian University for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
