BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech and Indiana University East battled in a River States Conference (RSC) overtime thriller where the Red Wolves captured a 93-89 W over the Golden Bears. Tech now holds a record of 4-10, 3-2 (RSC) while IU East moves to 13-3, 4-1 (RSC).
Four Golden Bears hit double figures including a game-high 27 points from
Brittney Justice and a double-double effort of 14 rebounds and 13 points from
Brianna Ball. B. Justice also posted six rebounds and three steals while Ball had two assists and a steal.
Alanis Hill was one assist shy of a double-double, dishing nine to go with 17 points, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Alyssa Taylor poured in 12 points and finished with four boads, three assists, a steal and a block.
Elle Baker recorded four blocks to lead the game while marking nine rebounds and seven points.
Tech led under the boards, grabbing 50 rebounds compared to the Red Wolves 38. The Gold and Blue held IU East to 41.8 percent (33-for-79) shooting from the floor and finished 50.6 percent (39-for-77) themselves.
WVU Tech will return to the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center Sunday, January 2 when they host Siena Heights University at 1 p.m.
