Golden Bears take one from Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tennessee -- Golden Bear softball defeated Milligan University 5-1 before falling 3-9 in a doubleheader matchup Wednesday. WVU Tech now holds a record of 1-3 while the Buffaloes move to 3-1.

Kay'Lee Justice helped lead the way at the plate after two games, finishing 4-for-8 towards three RBI, two doubles, a triple and a run scored.

Maddie Bowles was 4-for-7 with three RBI and a homerun for the Gold and Blue.

Mackenzie Siersma and Jacey Bertalan tallied three hits, a double and a run scored each.

Taylor Dickerson and Alexis Lopez finished with two hits and a run scored apiece. 

Nicole Kester and Makenzie Holley each brought a run in.

In the circle, Dickerson was awarded the W after 5.0 innings, three strike outs and just one earned run.

Courtney Miles pitched 1.0 innings, finishing with one strike out towards the loss.

Kourtney McNatt (5.0 innings) struck out three while Karina Atanacio (2.0 innings) retired two via strikes.

The team is schedule to return to the field March 7 when they host Lawrence Technological University for another two games.
