PIPPAS PASSES, Kentucky -- WVU Tech men's basketball defeated Alice Lloyd College 82-68 during a semifnal of the River States Conference (RSC) Championship Saturday to advance to the final of the championship and gain a bid to the NAIA National Championship.
The Golden Bears' five starters all hit double-figures including a 5-for-5 effort from beyond the arc from senior Andreas Jönsson. He finished with a team-best 16 points.
Freshman
Thomas Hailey was one board short from a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Sophomore
Andrew Work had 14 points and four rebounds while senior
Tamon Scruggs finished with 13 points, four steals and three assists.
Senior
Juvante' Hayes was a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line towards 11 points and five assists.
Sophomore
Darrin Martin came off the bench for nine point and six rebounds while sophomore
Ashton Parker had five boards and four points.
Tech will host conference rival University of Rio Grande during a GOLD RUSH for the River States Conference Championship Tuesday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m.
