Softball picks up fourth consecutive win

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- WVU Tech softball is enjoying a four-game winning streak after another doubleheader sweep on Saturday. The Golden Bears defeated Carolina University 7-2 and 7-1 and now hold a record of 5-7 overall.

Game One Highlights:

Sophomore Brianna Stevenson finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored.
Junior Jacey Bertalan had two hits and a run scored.
Freshman Gabby Pyles recorded a double towards two RBI.
Freshman Makenzie Holley and sophomore Mackenzie Siersma had a RBI and a hit each.
Bertalan (2), Stevenson (3) and sophomore Nicole Kester grabbed a stolen bases.
Junior Taylor Dickerson pitched a complete game for the W including six strike outs and just one run scored.

Game Two Highlights:

Bertalan and senior Karina Atanacio had two RBI each.
Pyles and Bertalan both knocked a double.
Kester and sophomore Ashleigh Sexton drove in a run apiece.
Atanacio (2), junior Nicole Self and freshman Ryleigh Jackson marked stolen bases.
Sophomore Courtney Miles was in the circle for 3.0 innings and got the victory after five strike outs.
Freshman Kourtney McNatt threw for 4.0 innings and struck out two batters.
