Streak halted with conference victory

GLENVILLE, West Virginia -- WVU Tech baseball busted a 15-game losing streak after defeating Oakland City University 7-1 in River States Conference (RSC) action Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 4-18, 1-9 (RSC) while the Mighty Oaks move to 11-14, 4-6 (RSC).

Freshman Francesco Calderon led at the plate with three hits, two RBI and a double. Senior Andrew Sharp also picked up two RBI off two hits, including a double.

Fellow senior Kent Rooklin drove a run in also recording a sacrifice fly, one hit and one run scored. Freshman Broedy Boyce finished with a stolen base, a RBI and a hit.

Freshman Luke Lindamood posted two hits, a RBI and a run scored while senior Douglas Pollock had a hit and a run scored.

Junior John Ackerman had two hits and two runs scored while courtesy runner freshman Wyatt Tennant scored two runs.

On the mound, junior Wil Mullins picked up the W after 3.2 innings, one strike out and just one earned run.

Senior Brett Linton drew the start, throwing for 4.1 innings towards four strike outs. Sophomore Logan McClure retired one batter via strikes in 1.0 innings of action.
