WVU Tech softball opened its home schedule with a doubleheader against Lawrence Tech University Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears dropped game one 14-5 before falling 4-1 in the final contest.

Game One Highlights:

• Senior Kay'lee Justice finished 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a double.
• Sophomore Mackenzie Siersma was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a home run, her second career dinger.
• Junior Jacey Bertalan had two hits, two runs scored and a double.
• Senior Karina Atanacio pitched 1.2 innings towards three strike outs.
• Junior Taylor Dickerson struck out two after 2.2 innings.
• Sophomore Savannah Bragg recorded one strike out in 0.2 innings.

Game Two Highlights:

• Sophomores Nicole Kester, Courtney Miles and Siersma had a hit each.
• Freshman Ryleigh Jackson recorded her first career RBI.
• Miles pitched a complete game towards six strike outs.
