Tech takes walk-off W from Asbury

Softball

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech softball split a River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader with Asbury University Saturday afternoon. After scores of 3-4 (8 innings) and 7-6, the Golden Bears now hold a record of 8-14, 2-6 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 14-18, 6-4 (RSC).

Game One Highlights: Game Two Highlights:
  • Scarlet Janney knocked a single to drive in Mackenzie Siersma for the walk-off W with two outs and on a 3-2 count.
  • Atanacio blasted a home run, finishing with two hits and three RBI.
  • Kay'lee Justiced posted a double and two RBI.
  • Janney finished with two hits and two RBI.
  • Alexis Lopez had two hits and a run scored.
  • Justice struck out two while Siersma posted one strike out.
  • Savannah Bragg recorded the W in the circle.

Tech will continue its eight-game home stand with two more on Tuesday when they host Carlow University in Shady Spring, West Virginia.
