BRUNSWICK, Georgia -- WVU Tech volleyball fell to Tennessee Wesleyan University (3-0) before dropping a match to host school Coastal Georgia College (3-1) Saturday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 0-4 after beginning the 2021 season at the Mariner Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore
Emma Leach recorded 25 assists while freshman
Savanna McMillion put out 21 assists for the Gold and Blue.
Senior
Coralys Maldonado Rivera led the attack with 17 kills while sophomore
Ana Muñiz Rocandio followed closely, putting away 16 kills.
Freshman
Alicia Cervera Sospedra also hit double-digits on the attack, posting 12 kills.
On defense, senior
Valentina Abondano and Rocandio had 25 digs each while senior
Abigail Gregory picked up 20 digs.
On the block, senior
Ariana Gentzler put down three block assists while Rivera, McMillion, and
Samantha Price had two each.
The team will return to the court Saturday, August 28 when they travel to University of Pikeville for a 2 p.m. match-up.
