(RV) Golden Bears blank Trolls

Men's Soccer

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech men's soccer scored a 4-0 shutout over Trinity Christian College Saturday evening at Paul Cline Stadium. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 2-1 while the Trolls move to 2-2.

Matthew King found the back of the net off an assist from Ignacio Barriga Fernandez to kick things off for the Gold and Blue.

Joan Hernández followed with his goal, getting the assist from Dixie Davies against the Trolls' keeper Giorgos Christodoulo.

Tech's third score was unassisted and recorded by Davies who now has two goals and two assists this season.

The final goal that pushed the Golden Bears to the 4-0 W came from Nikolaj Park Mortensen off the perfect pass from Mateo Lozano.

Christodoulo was forced to make ten saves while Lucas Rivera Paramio stopped seven attempts in 90 minutes.

As a team, Tech had 15 shots on goal compared to Trinity Christian's seven and also held the edge on corner kicks, 16-4.

Up next WVU Tech will host Mount Vernon Nazarene University Wednesday, September 8 at 7 p.m.
