RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech volleyball went 2-2 at the Emileigh Cooper Memorial Classic hosted by University of Rio Grande Friday and Saturday. The Golden Bears, who are now 3-6, defeated Point Park University (3-2) and Rio Grande (3-2) while falling to (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University (0-3) and Shawnee State University (1-3).
Over four matches, Ana Muniz Rocandio led the attack with 44 kills while
Coralys Maldonado Rivera was close behind with 43. Rivera also put down four block solos and three block assists.
In the back row,
Valentina Abondano picked up 80 digs while Rocandio finished with 53.
Julia McClanahan handled the ball towards 122 assists to go with 39 digs and ten kills.
Rocandio also posted 15 service aces while
Emma Leach and McClanahan had four each.
The team will return to action Thursday when they host Concord University for their home opener.
