BECKLEY, West Virginia -- (RV) WVU Tech cooked up its 12th consecutive win as they defeated Indiana University Southeast in River States Conference (RSC) action 87-69 Thursday. The Golden Bears now boast a record of 15-2, 6-0 (RSC) while the Grenadiers move to 5-13, 3-4 (RSC).
Juvante' Hayes and
Keondre' King recorded career-highs, both hitting five from beyond the arc towards 19 and 18 points respectively. Hayes also had four rebounds and three assists while King had three boards and an assist.
Thomas Hailey came off the bench to finish 7-for-7 towards 15 points, seven boards and two blocks.
Gunner Short poured in 11 points and
Tamon Scruggs had ten to round out Tech's top scorers. Both had two assists while Scruggs posted five boards and Short had two rebounds.
Under the boards,
Ashton Parker pulled down nine rebounds while
Philip Mullins had seven. Mullins also matched his career-high with eight assists while Parker made two blocks.
The team will continue conference play Sunday when they host Midway University at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
