BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball fell to University of Rio Grande 3-1 in River States Conference (RSC) play with scores of 23-25, 26-24, 21-25 and 17-25. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 7-20, 4-8 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 14-10, 8-5 (RSC).
Julia McClanahan led the way for the 5-1 Tech played, dishing 39 assists to go with four digs and two kills.
In the back row, libero Brooke Prelsey picked up a team-high 12 digs while
Emma Leach had 11 and
Ana Muniz Rocandio finished with ten.
On the attack,
Coralys Maldonado Rivera put down 13 kills to lead the Gold and Blue while Muniz Rocandio had 11 kills towards a double-double and
Emily Stack finished with nine kills.
The team will return to Van Meter Gym this Friday when they host Point Park University in more conference action at 7 p.m.
