BLUEFIELD, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball fell to Washington Adventist University 77-56 Sunday afternoon in a home match-up. The Golden Bears are now 4-2 this season while the Shock move to 2-1.
Freshman
Alva Hedrich came off the bench to lead Tech with 16 points while recording three rebounds.
Fellow freshman
Janaya Berry also hit double-digits in scoring, producing 13 points. Berry just missed a double-double with a game-best nine rebounds.

Valiyah Yazzie and
Emilee Whitt had seven and six points respectively. Sophomore
Emily Hutchinson finished with four rebounds and three points.
WVU Tech was held to 29.3 percent (17-for-58) shooting from the field while Washington Adventist finished at 42.0 percent (29-for-69). The Shock also held the slight edge under the boards, 39-35.
Up next the Golden Bears will have a two-game home stand, hosting Carlow University Thursday, November 17 before facing Point Park University November 19. The games will tip off the River States Conference season for the Golden Bears and will be held at Appalachian Bible College.
